Create coupon

Coupon are created via Store -> Coupons. Clicks new to create coupon.

Coupon code - Code of the coupon. This coupon will be given out the customer and is the one that customer will enter during check-out.

Name - Name of the coupon.

Start Date - The date when this coupon becomes effective.

End Date - The data when this coupon expires.

Scope - Specify if this coupon should be applied to the order level or to the item level. For example, if the customer buys 2 items in one order and this coupon is configured to be 10 dollars off, 'Per Order' means this coupon will take 10 dollars off the whole order and 'Per Item' means this coupon will take 10 dollars off each item and resulted in 20 dollars off for the order.

Automatic apply to all orders - Specify if this coupon should be applied automatically to orders. For example, you can create a 10 dollars off on all orders coupon and will be applied to all orders during checkout. This will eliminate the need for customer to enter the coupon code.

Apply to all items and categories - Specify if this coupon should be applied to all items and categories. Coupon can be restricted to only a certain of items or categories. If this value is selected, this coupon can be applied to all items and categories. This value is only applicable when the scope is set to 'Per Item'.

Published - Specify if this coupon is published (active).

Coupon Type - There are currently 4 types of coupon that can be configured.

    1. Percentage discount - Take a percentage off an item or the whole order.
    2. Dollar amount discount - Take a fix amount off an item or the whole order.
    3. Free shipping - Do not charge shipping for the item or the whole order.
    4. Discount over order amount - Take a fix amount of when the item or the whole order is over a certain amount.

Discount percentage - Percentage amount to be taken off.

Discount amount - The fix amount that is to be taken off.

Order amount - The order amount when the coupon is configured as type 'Discount over order amount'.

Maximum number of coupon to be used - The number of times that this coupon can be used.

Maximum number of coupons to be used by a single user - The number of times that this coupon can be used by a single person.

Priority - Specify the sequence of the coupon when applying to the order. The coupon that has the lower number will be applied first. For example, when the total order amount is 51 dollars and the customer has a '10 dollar off' coupon and a '5 dollars off 50 dollars' coupon, the 5 dollars off 50 dollars' will be rejected if the '10 dollars off' coupon has the higher priority and applied first. Otherwise, both coupon will be applied.
